A visit to Meijer Gardens

This past Saturday mom, dad and I went to Meijer Gardens in Grand Rapids because we wanted to watch the butterfly exhibition they have there right now. The building looks like a giant green house from the outside, very pretty.

Inside they have all kinds of strange plants...

...and big palm trees. It almost looks like a small jungle!

Dad and I looked at the butterflies flying by. They were so tame, not at all afraid of us.

Here is mom and I. Mom is wearing her new glasses. They got quite foggy in the steamy greenhouse building, but not so bad that she couldn't take some cool photos.

Just look at this beautiful butterfly.

This one is called a postman butterfly, but I'm not so sure he looks like a postman. What do you think?

I like this one a lot. Don't remember what it's called though.

And here, the most beautiful butterfly of them all! This one is called "Elsiemis Huangis".

The Pledge of Allegiance

Birthday party

Yesterday I went to a Princess party. It was my friend Chloe's 4th birthday! Everyone were dressed up as princesses. This was my outfit. Do you like it?

More snow, a birthday party and new curtains

Well, hello friends. How are you all doing? It's been a busy month so I thought I should take the time to update you all on what I have been up to lately.

Michigan is offering lots of snow this year and we were hit with a few snow storms. After those we feel quite snowed in and it's almost impossible to even get out of the drive way.

One morning dad had to get up really early and shovel snow for a couple of hours before one of our cars could finally get out.

A couple of weeks ago I was invited to a birthday partly. It was my friend at daycare, Katelyn, who had her 4th birthday. Her mom and dad had arranged the party in a gym so all of us birthday guest got to do some gymnastics. Look at my excellent balancing skills!

I don't really know this boy but he seemed to like me a lot.

Here Katelyn is opening the presents she got from me; a Cat in the Hat board game and a Barbie doll. I think she liked both gifts a lot.

Mom has finally had some time to bake and I got to help. I helped eating the dough too. We had a bit too much so I really needed to make sure all of it was used up. Also, note that I'm wearing my mom's apron from when she was a kid (that's why it says Sofia on it).

Last weekend I did some painting in my room. Mom got me a little paintbox where I can keep all my paints. I did 3 paintings and they all came out really nice!

Mom has also been busy with crafty things. She has been working on these pair of curtains for weeks, but now they are finally done! Dad bought this cool tool that you can cut perfect circles with. Great, said my mom to my dad, now would you please cut out all the circles. I think perhaps my dad regretted that he offered to help, at least a little bit. The tool was good, but the curtains were too thick! I heard my dad grumble and mumble something about "...that stupid store who give the wrong sowing instructions...."

Well, after all the work, the curtains actually turned out quite nice. Also, note our new Herman Miller Eames Lounge Chair. Dad likes to sit there almost every night.

On the other side of the hallway are the second pair of curtains. The chairs are also new. Eames molded plastic chairs. Pretty, don't you think?

Well, until next time my friends.
