First of Advent

Today is first of Advent. We lit one candle. Every Sunday now until Christmas we will light a new one. It was a beautiful winter day and when I woke up it was snowing. So exiting!
Today we went to Macy's Holiday Display. They have whole sets displaying everything from singing Christmas Trees to Santa's workshop. It was my grandma's last day in town with us. Here we are waiting in line for the display.
I was so exited to see the beautiful sets. I kept on saying "ouhhh" and "ahhh" and pointing at the amazing lights!
They even had an airballon set.
What a great way to spend the morning. After watching the display we went to Santa's shop and bought sweet treats. Mmmm, chocolate! I think it gearing up to be a wonderful holiday season.

Thanksgiving

It's Thanksgiving and everyone is celebrating the holiday with their families. Therefore, I'm not going to daycare today and mom and dad are not working. My grandmother, Grace, is here visiting. She just arrived yesterday and today we have spent the whole day together. We started off with a nice breakfast together.
After playing a lot all morning dad and I took a quick nap. So cozy!
Some more play before we head out for lunch.
I can walk all the way to the elevator by myself now. Here I am, walking away with my grandma.
We had a nice dim sum lunch in a Chinese restaurant.
After we got home mom and I played and then we took a nice bath.
This is my Thanksgiving dinner. Mashed sweet potatoes is pretty good, but I'm already waiting for my desert!
I really like my new book that I got from Malin in Paris. Dad reads it to me in Chinese, although it's a Swedish book. The dog in the book says "vaff, vaff" and imagine, I know how to say that myself!
So, I guess I didn't get to be part of the later night Thanksgiving dinner. I was so tired that I fell asleep while mom was reading "Prinsessan Sessalätt" for me.

New York, New York

Here I am in my new jumpsuit that I got from my auntie Annie for my birthday. I'm getting ready to take off for our trip to New York. Wow, so exiting. Daddy is packing all my food and the taxi for the airport will soon be here. New York, here I come!
New York, New York! We stayed at the Soho Grand hotel. Welcome to our room on the 12th floor!
We were so lucky with the weather. Look at that beautiful view from our window!
My real birthday was on Monday the 17th. Nicole came for dinner and hung out with us in the hotel room afterwards. Fun! My grandfather Michael also called me while we were at the restaurant. I felt so celebrated!
Wow, it was really cold outside so I got to wear my brand new winter jacket and knitted cap that I got as a birthday present from my grandma Ingela in Sweden. In the Japanese bookshop I played with all the fun toyboxes. Mommy also had a fun time putting everything back on the shelf.
Mmm, breakfast at Balthazar restaurant in Soho. I got crayons from the nice waiter to play with and I kept throwing them on the floor, just to have the sweet waiters pick them up for me. I said hi to them and they said hi back.
Eating and playing hard is tiring so I took a morning nap in the restaurant before we headed out.
What a gorgeous day! We went to Bryant Park.
Look at that beautiful ice skating rink. They already had the Christmas tree up. It was fun watching the people skating around. It had been a fun trip. On Thursday morning daddy and I went home. Mommy came home on Friday night (I was already asleep, but I was happy to see her this morning!).

Birthday party!

Hi everyone, guess who is a birthday girl? I am of course! On Monday I will be 1 year old! Just in time for my birthday party (which was today), I got a bruise under my eye. I have been practicing my walking, but sometimes it doesn't go the way I want it to.
Mom and dad had sent out invites, and mom made goodie bags for the guests too. The kids at the party got bags with a little finger puppet. I really wanted to show you my cool chocolate cake but mom forgot to take a photo of it (we have it on video though!), so I can only show you the little mini cake I got in the morning.
When the guests arrived we had some buffet food. Dad had made great chicken fingers. Yum!
Mum made all the little dishes. I liked the hummus and pita bread the best, and a lot of the guests liked the salmon rolls.
I got so many gifts, it was so exiting. Here I am with Roman, Zander and Chloe. They helped me open the gifts which was nice because I haven't quite mastered my gift opening skills yet.
It was so surprising when the cake came out and everyone started to sing. I think I got a little scared actually, but it was soon all better....
....much better, since chocolate cake is quite amazing!
Wow, busy eating here!
Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves at the party. When it started to get dark it was time for our guests to head home. What a great day it had been!
Look everyone at my wonderful birthday gifts! I really like all of them and I was so busy playing with them all night.
I got this birthday crown from Amy and Molly. Although mom and dad loved seeing me wear it I like it better when it was not on my head but rather in my hand so that I could play with it!
Well folks, this birthday is not over yet. Tomorrow I will celebrate again, and open gifts that I got in the mail from my aunt Sara, Ebba, Inez, Steven, my grandmother Ingela and my aunt Annie. Then I'm going to NYC and on Monday I will celebrate my birthday New York style and meet my aunt Nicole (she doesn't want to be called aunt though, so I guess it's just Nicole). Wow, what a great way to start my second year!

Cold but cosy day

I woke up early (as usual), and mom and I had breakfast together. Dad was still sleeping (sleepyhead!). I remembered my bouncy balls and started playing with them again. You can do so many things with them.
It was a very cold day (winter is definitely on the way!) and we went out to buy groceries, but first we went to the bookshop. So much fun to spend time in the children's section of the store! I found all these cute toys!
The books were also fun. I walked around and said "hi" to everyone and they seemed to like it! They said hi back.
Although it was so cold it really was a beautiful day.
On the way home I ate Cherios and felt a bit bored. Sure, the city is beautiful at night, but I was anxious to get home!

My new bouncy balls

I got 3 bouncy balls yesterday when we went to IKEA. I call them "ba". They are really fun to play with! I bounced them, and threw them and carried them around all evening and I had so much fun.

Beautiful November afternoon

It the first of November, my birthday month! I'm soon 1 year old, can you believe it? We went for a stroll along the Calhoun lake this afternoon and the weather was gorgeous. Just look at those beautiful colors of the trees!
The beach looks so empty now in the fall, but in the play park right next to it there were a lot of kids playing on the swings and the slides.
Mom and I cuddled in the park and also enjoyed the slide. I could slide on my own on the smallest slide. Fun!
What a nice way to spend the afternoon.
I went on the swing too and I loved it!

Halloween!

I had a really good Halloween! At daycare I had an orange Halloween t-shirt on and my head teacher, Michelle, also had a fun Halloween tee on. She is great!
I also had fun with my other teacher, Liz. Many of my friends at daycare had dressed up. Skeleton outfits are cool!
Mom and dad picked me up early from daycare and we went to Kenya's house for a Halloween party. Before everyone else arrived Chloe and I had the time to play in her backyard. It was so fun to play in the stacks of leaves!
Mom and I had fun playing together too!
Inside Kenya's house the Halloween mood was really going strong. Candles, pumpkins and garlands made it so cosy!
I was dressed up as a pumpkin. I really liked my costume and didn't take it off all evening!
Here is our costume parade! All the kids were dressed up. Pumpkins, Elmo, tigers, you name it!
Our food was scary good too! Eyeball cupcake anyone?
We also had games. Making white footprints on black paper to then create a ghost...
....and fishing for smily face balls in a big bucket. Everyone won a little cup of Play-Doo!
I was so tired in the evening going home. It had been a really good day!
